Meet Rick Peterson

Trusted and reliable local agent with a commitment to your wellbeing

One of the things I enjoy most about this work is getting to know and help people. Medicare may be complicated, but people aren't. Behind every question is someone who wants to protect their health, their future, and the quality of life they've worked hard to create.

As a Medicare recipient myself, I understand how important these decisions are. It's not just about choosing a plan. It's about feeling confident that you've made the right choices for yourself and your future.

I talk with you the same way I'd talk with a friend or neighbor. If we're nearby, let's sit down over a cup of coffee. I'll answer your questions and help you understand your options—without pressure, confusing jargon, or sales tactics.

My commitment to you is simple: I'll stay current on Medicare changes, listen carefully, explain things clearly, and help you make informed choices. And when enrollment is over, I'm still here.

When I'm not helping clients, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Susan, our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We split our time between Southern California and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. In our leaisure time you'll find Susan in the garden and I'll be listening to music (preferably live). Or maybe I'll be behind my drum set. Music is in my soul.

Demystifying Medicare

I am a proud independent agent with Bilhartz Desert Insurance Agency, LLC, that values working with agents, clients, and our communities to build lasting connections.

We do not represent every plan in your service area. Currently, we represent 32 carriers that offer 128 products. Please contact 1-800Medicare, Medicare.gov or your State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) for information on all of your options.

Medicare can be confusing. My goal is to help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Original Medicare consists of Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance).

Together, Parts A and B provide broad coverage for hospital stays, physician services, outpatient care, preventive services, and many other medically necessary healthcare expenses.

Most people receive Part A without a premium, while Part B requires a monthly premium. In most cases, Medicare pays approximately 80% of approved medical expenses, leaving beneficiaries responsible for deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.

I help clients understand how Original Medicare works, what it covers, and where potential gaps in coverage.

Which Option Is Right for You?

There is no one-size-fits-all Medicare solution.

The right choice depends on your health, budget, travel habits, provider preferences, prescription needs, and personal goals.

My role is to help you understand your options, compare available plans, and make a confident, informed decision.

Ready to learn more?

Schedule a consultation and let's discuss the Medicare options that make the most sense for your situation.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C, are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare.

These plans combine Medicare Part A and Part B coverage into a single plan and often include additional benefits such as:

• Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D)
• Dental Benefits
• Vision Benefits
• Hearing Benefits
• Fitness and Wellness Programs
• Transportation Assistance (on some plans)

Medicare Advantage plans are available in both HMO and PPO formats and vary by location.

I help clients compare available plans and select coverage that aligns with their healthcare needs, provider preferences, prescription requirements, and budget.

Medicare Supplement (MediGap)

Medicare Supplement plans, commonly known as Medigap plans, work alongside Original Medicare to help cover many of the out-of-pocket costs that Medicare does not pay.

Depending on the plan selected, Medigap coverage may help pay:

• Medicare deductibles
• Coinsurance
• Copayments
• Other Medicare-approved expenses

Medigap plans provide flexibility to see any provider nationwide who accepts Medicare and can be an excellent choice for individuals seeking predictable healthcare costs.

I help clients compare Medicare Supplement plans and find the right balance between coverage, affordability, and long-term value.

You have questions.
I have answers.

Let's talk.
